About Giclée Prints
If you purchase one of the prints on this Symphony of Color Web site, regardless of its size it will be what is known as a Giclée print. Not all prints are made equally. The Giclée process is a relatively new, digital, ink and paper-specific printing process that has become the industry standard for excellence in image reproduction. I produce these prints in my studio. The digital process has overcome some of the limitations that have previously hindered the production of fine museum quality prints. Many older methods of print production have used a four color process. The print that I make for you uses seven colors, the finest quality ink and one of the best papers on the market.
You may ask why this process is beneficial to me as a purchaser of fine art? First, you will have a reproduction of one of my original watercolors that only people with a trained eye will know is a print and not the original. Second, if you follow the care directions included with your order, you and your loved ones will enjoy this print for many generations. Third, since many people who have bought my originals over the years say that they appreciate their vivid colors, the Giclée process captures the original vividness while adding the advantage of affordability. Fourth, each Giclée print is numbered and signed within a limited edition.
A good piece of art- whether an original or a print- is a treasure to enjoy for a lifetime, especially if it speaks directly to your inner spirit. Professional theater productions, museum visits and access to historic places are becoming increasingly more expensive for individuals and families. Even our national seashores and parks where people can embrace the beauty of nature are increasing fees that exclude many from such an experience. I do not believe that access to the aesthetic should be exclusive.
In keeping with this spirit, Symphony of Color and my prints are an effort to in some way bring art into your home even if you choose to just look and not buy. Certainly, I would like for you to buy it. But if you do not at this time, please consider bookmarking Symphony of Color as a “favorite” spot to which you will return. If you like the images that you see here, please share our Web site address with friends and family as well. Who knows, someone you know may buy a Giclée print for you!
For those of you who do purchase a Giclée print from this Web site, you will receive a certificate of authenticity. Frame your print with this certificate of authenticity attached on the back.
Caring for your Giclée print includes framing it under glass and keeping it out of direct sunlight. Like a fine piece of watercolor art, the inks are light-sensitive and must be carefully maintained.
Please take time to browse the gallery, enjoy the tour and add a Symphony of Color to your favorite place.
